Early Footage for Audience Feedback

We showed our early footage, which is not yet complete, to a group of people to get their views on what we have done so far. This was done with the intention that we could take their comments on to improve upon our trailer. The thoughts were as so (comment on this post):

  1. First piece of footage is encouraging, good range of shots and some competent camera work. Look forward to seeing the more footage very soon!
The length of the one shot does seem a little long for a trailer or though could be used with a supporting voive over to introduce the film's concept to the audience.

  2. Shows a variety of camera angles, good transition between shots. I like the concept of the film, good start to the trailer. Although the camera work could be a little bit better.

  3. The film clip you showed had long, continuous shots that introduced the audience to main characters. Even though we did not see a plot yet, it's obvious that it is a horror film by the initial shots.
Things that need to be improved is the editing between clips and captions. It was too slow during the clip and didn't link the scenes because of that.
The slow motion of throwing the cigarette away seemed unneeded and made the scene become quite comical.
